Lost to the Lake: The Seabird

While most ships are lost to storms on Lake Michigan, the Seabird was the victim of fire in 1868. Only three passengers made it off the ship alive and just one body was ever recovered from the frigid water. LEL gives you the harrowing account of what really happened on that disastrous April morning as told by the survivors themselves.

Due to the record warm temperatures in March some tulips in Holland began blooming before April 1st. This may be the year to visit twice, once for the tulips themselves, then again for the fun events of Tulip Time Festival.
