Learn about the fascinating history of Squaw Island Light, especially the tragedy which unfolded in December 1900 when the lighthouse keepers and their family members met with disaster upon leaving Squaw Island at the end of the shipping season.

It's spring along the lakeshore, which means it's Tulip Time again in Holland, Michigan. And bring a camera to record the multitude of gorgeous tulips in full bloom throughout downtown Holland and at famed Veldheer Tulip Farm.

The big news in West Michigan this winter is the opening of Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. The exhibition runs from February 9th through July 7th and showcases over 150 artifacts recovered from the bottom of the Atlantic. Full size reproductions of several rooms give a sense of life aboard the doomed ship. Actual dining room china, furniture and ship's fittings will be on display along with some passenger's belongings that survived the harsh conditions at the bottom of the ocean.
