The Serenity of Shopping:
The Blueberry Store - South Haven
|
West Michigan is the Blueberry Capital of the World. And no place harvests more blueberries than Grand Junction, located 12 miles from South Haven. Lakeshore visitors who want to sample these delectable berries should check out The Blueberry Store at 525 Phoenix Street in downtown South Haven.
|
| Opened in 1990, The Blueberry Store, owned by Grand Junction's True Blue Farms, was the first shop to cater exclusively to blueberry fans. Summer hours are Monday - Thursday 10am-8pm, Friday and Saturday 10am-9pm. Open Sunday 10am-7pm. |
The Blueberry Store sells a dizzying array of blueberry and blueberry related products. |
|
Along with fresh, frozen and dried local blueberries, the store sells a number of gourmet blueberry items. And for those who want to try their hand at growing their own blueberries, the store will sell two-year old, high quality blueberry bushes from Michigan greenhouses that specialize in the berries. From all-natural juices to tee shirts to mugs, it's all here.
Got a sweet tooth? Try The Blueberry Store's chocolate covered blueberries, blueberry filled chocolate bars, blueberry caramels, blueberry preserves or blueberry truffles.
| And don't forget to look over their wide selection of blueberry blossom honey, blueberry tea and blueberry barbecue sauce. Blueberry salsa too! |
Whether you're looking for cookbooks filled with blueberry recipes, blueberry candles, blueberry syrup or blueberry dip mixes, you'll find them all at 525 Phoenix Street.
| The Store even sells blueberry coffee, blueberry mustard and blueberry-scented soap. |
And because the holidays will be here before we know it, remember that The Blueberry Store offers a number of gift ideas. Especially popular are gift baskets filled with their products. Try the Country Living Basket or the Merry Berry Basket.
Don't forget to stop by for a blueberry smoothie or blueberry ice cream sundae, especially during the week of August 11-14 when South Haven celebrates The Blueberry Festival.
| If baked goods are high on your shopping list, check out the selection of blueberry baking mixes (scones, pancakes, muffins, cornbread). Best of all, especially if you're a Cookie Monster, are the fresh baked delicious blueberry cookies and doughnuts. Pick up a gift catalog while you're there, or visit their website at www.TheBlueberryStore.com. |
